Steering Column Hole Cover

The steering column hole cover (SCHC), or steering seal is located in the dash-board panel to isolate the passenger compartment from the conditions of the engine compartment such as acoustic, dust and water sealing.

We have developed a double-wall system to guarantee high acoustic performance by the column during operation. In addition, our solutions are designed to generate very low torque and low column sliding forces, one of the most demanding functional requirement next to acoustic performance.

Our experts design and develop multi-material steering solutions (TP/TPE, EPDM, VMQ…) that are lightweight and easy to assemble by clipping and/or screwing considering the “third” hand solution.

To validate our steering seals in-house, we have designed different test benches : wearing, torque, water and dust sealing equipment, tactile gloves and acoustic tools to meet the technical requirements of steering column manufacturers.
