Diaphragms

Rubber diaphragms provide pressure transfer between two chambers containing a fluid, gas or both. They ensure the sealing to prevent contaminants from entering, or fluids from being transferred between the two chambers.

Hutchinson designs and manufactures membranes from various elastomers or composite materials, with or without fabric or metal reinforcement to adapt to the conditions of use (pressure level, temperature, fluid) and to facilitate assembly.

Hutchinson offers different designs of diaphragms for a wide range of industrial sectors, including nuclear, rail, medical, food processing, and automotive.

  • Unrolled membranes are made of a textile sheet coated with rubber. This gives them greater strength and optimal flexibility to fit perfectly against the walls of the piston and cylinder. These reinforced diaphragms are particularly suitable for hydraulic and pneumatic control applications, as well as control and regulation devices.
  • Thanks to its moulding expertise, Hutchinson also offers solutions in TP, TPE or overmoulded on metal inserts. These types of membranes are particularly well suited to automotive applications such as braking systems.
